Chinese title ：天外飞仙
天外飞仙 is a story about the love between a celestial being, Xiaoqi(小七), and a human, Dong Yong(董永), also nickname as di-gua(地瓜). The story begins when Dong Yong lets out a kite which fly to heaven where Xiaoqi happened to come upon it. For the love of her beloved second sister (In heaven, the jade emperor 玉帝 has 7 daughters and his second daughter had fallen in love with a human, who was punished), Xiaoqi descend to the human realm and met Dong Yong, who help her to finish her task. Later, she was taken back to heaven by erlangshen(二郎神) and punished by the jade emperor where she was stripped off of her powers and banished to earth to learn from Dong Yong the ways of being a good person. From here on, the story takes on the love between Dong Yong and Xiaoqi where more new characters appeared and so on. However, eventually Xiaoqi was taken back to heaven again and Dong Yong is determine to find her back with the help of his two best friends. In the end, the jade emperor is moved by their love and allowed the marriage between Dong Yong and Xiaoqi but they only have 100 days together, where after that, Xiaoqi is to return to heaven.
The ending is rather relieving for the couple where the story takes on the modern society, that is now, where the next reincarnation of Dong Yong and Xiaoqi are to continue their destiny.
My opinion:
The love between Dong Yongand Xiaoqi is very touching and adorable! Dong Yong is so devoted and loving to Xiaoqi while Xiaoqi is so cute and playful! However, because the chinese believed that gods,that is celestial beings are not allowed to love and hate, Xiaoqi and Dong Yong have to be separated in the end, which makes me want to CRY!!! Wahhhh!!!
